Marla J. Gold, MD, the dean of the Drexel University School of Public Health, was recently appointed to the City of Philadelphia’s Board of Health by Mayor Michael Nutter. As a member of the Board of Health, Dean Gold will advise and help formulate policy for the city’s Department of Public Health.

Dr. Jennifer Taylor to Chair APHA’s Injury Control and Emergency Health Services Section

Jennifer A. Taylor, PhD, MPH, an assistant professor at the Drexel University School of Public Health, was elected as the chairperson of the Injury Control and Emergency Health Services section of the American Public Health Association (APHA) in September. Dr. Taylor’s term as chair will begin at the end of October.

Dr. Arthur Frank to Serve on Philadelphia's Air Pollution Control Board

Arthur L. Frank, MD, PhD, a professor and Chair of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the School of Public Health, was appointed to the City of Philadelphia’s Air Pollution Control Board by Mayor Michael Nutter. The Air Pollution Control Board was created nearly 40-years ago by the City of Philadelphia to establish air quality objectives and enforce city regulations to reduce pollution.Read more...

Major Grant Forges Partnership with Philadelphia Health Management Corporation

State, Local Leaders Talk Violence Prevention with Executive Students

Drexel Receives $14M NIH Grant for Autism Research

The Drexel University School of Public Health was awarded on April 1, 2008 an Autism Centers of Excellence (ACE) grant from the National Institutes of Health for more than $14,300,000 to examine risk factors and the development of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in expectant mothers and their babies. The ACE is the largest grant received by the School of Public Health in its 11-year history.  Craig J.
