Prof. Arthur Frank and CDC Environmental Grant

Arthur Frank, M.D., Ph.D., Professor in the Dept. of Environmental and Occupational Health, was recently named a co-recipient of a five-year $2.2 million grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "to establish an academic research center that will assist local and state public health agencies looking for links between exposure to environmental pollutants and chronic diseases."

The new center will be based at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH), and will oversee the state-wide project. GSPH professor Evelyn Talbott, DrPH, MPH, will co-direct the center. "According to Dr. Talbott, Drexel's involvement will be critical to the success of the network because it will extend its reach into the southeastern part of the state as well as into the inner-city neighborhoods of Philadelphia."
