Assistant Professor Mariana Chilton, Ph.D., M.P.H., was honored at the annual Drexel University Faculty Dinner with the Lindback Award for teaching excellence, for her work in both the masters and doctoral programs. This prestigious award notes teaching, mentoring and working with students on presentations and publications. One of Dr. Chilton's students, Cizely Kurian, MPH Class of '05, who has worked with Dr. Chilton and key staff at the Maternity Care Coalition, has been awarded in several venues for her poster presentation on "PhotoVoices." The work won awards at Drexel University Research Day, at the College of Physicians Poster event and recently took 3rd place (among 120 entrants) for the national 2004-2005 Secretary's Award for Innovations in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. Cizely’s work is a reflection of Dr. Chilton’s dedication.
