"Today we cross a threshold in our lives...we publicly enter the field of public health."
The Drexel School of Public Health honored its newly-enrolled students at its annual Welcoming Ceremony and reception on October 25, 2006, in the historic rooms of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.

MPH Class of '08, with Asst. Dean Marcus Kolb, Dean Marla J. Gold,
and Associate Dean Mary Hovinga
Members of the Full-Time MPH, Executive MPH, and DrPH programs received pins embossed with the seal of the Drexel School of Public Health, and recited the school pledge, which references both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Charter of the World Health Organization. Dr. John Rich, Professor and Chair of the Dept. of Health Management and Policy, gave the keynote address. The pinning ceremony was originally conceived by Dr. Jonathan Mann (1947-1998), the first Dean of the School of Public Health.
