Prof. Chilton Chairs "Food Insecurity" Seminar

Asst. Professor Mariana Chilton, PhD, MPH, chaired a seminar "Hunger in Philadelphia? Evidence of Food Insecurity in the Midst of an Obesity Epidemic" at the University of Pennsylvania on March 4.
The seminar was sponsored by the University's Center for Public Health Initiatives, which hosts a Public Health Research in Action Speakers Series.
Dr. Chilton addressed work and research done by The Philadelphia GROW Project, a Center at the Drexel School of Public Health. "Food insecurity is bad for health, bad for development." |

Dr. Chilton also mentioned the need for raising food stamp allotments, and related work on the Congressional Farm Bill, due to expire on March 15.
