The Drexel University School of Public Health welcomed Warren Hilton this month as the school's new Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
Hilton comes to Drexel University from Moravian College where he served as Associate Dean of Student Development and Director of Co-Curricular Leadership Programs. At Moravian, he managed the Leadership Center, advised the United Student Government and oversaw the Career Development, Community Service, and Student Activities Departments. Additionally, Hilton’s responsibilities included oversight of first year orientation. He also assisted with recruitment and served as an academic advisor. Prior to his role as Associate Dean, Hilton was the Director of Career Development at Moravian College. During his tenure at Moravian, Hilton presented on a wealth of Career Development, Leadership, and Management topics.
Prior to coming to Moravian College, Hilton worked at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he served as Assistant Director in the Career Services and Disability Support Office. While at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, he worked part-time at Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) as an academic advisor and evening supervisor for the Continuing and Graduate Studies Division.
Prior to Hopkins, Hilton served as an Instructor for courses related to Career Development, and Leadership at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). While in that role, he worked at the Undergraduate Business Career Center at University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He also worked during his graduate program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) as a graduate assistant/career counselor in the Career Services Office. Prior to his higher education work experience, he worked in the information technology field for Johnson & Johnson, DuPont, and CoreTech Consulting.
Hilton's research interests include leadership development and education, generational workforce issues, and student development theory. He received his master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Hilton, a native of Philadelphia, likes to fish, work out, read books (his favorite authors include Dee Henderson, T.D. Jakes, and John Grisham), and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jana; and daughter, Kennedy.
