Candice Mathew Healy is a Senior Policy Analyst for the Center for Health Equality. She conducts research on models of culturally competent health care and racial and ethnic health disparities. Candice is also Managing Director of the National Conference Series on Quality Health Care for Culturally Diverse Populations. Since 1998, these conferences have featured hundreds of the top experts in culturally competent health care from the United States and abroad on topics ranging from organizational cultural competence to training health professionals to reducing linguistic barriers in health care. Ms. Healy oversees and directs the planning and implementation of the conference series, supervising conference staff and vendors; administering the budget and subcontracts; and organizing content, format and logistics for this seminal conference held biennially for over 500 participants. Ms. Healy also assists with planning and management of the Center for Health Equality and administers all CHE grants and budgets. Ms. Healy holds a Master’s of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University and also has a background in geography.
