Nadia J. Siddiqui is a Health Policy Analyst at the Center for Health Equality. Ms. Siddiqui engages in research and evaluation activities related to national, state and local policies and programs targeting racial and ethnic minority populations and their health care. Ms. Siddiqui currently serves as Project Manager on CHE’s preparedness and diversity initiatives, specifically the National Consensus Panel on Emergency Preparedness and Cultural Diversity and the National Resource Center on Advancing Emergency Preparedness for Culturally Diverse Communities (www.diversitypreparedness.org). Ms. Siddiqui is also involved in a number of other CHE projects, including the evaluation of a community-based program utilizing beauty salons as health education sites for African American and Latino communities and the evaluation of the need and feasibility of creating a national umbrella organization focused on improving cultural competence and eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in health care.  Ms. Siddiqui holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.  From her academic and research training, Ms. Siddiqui brings skills in quantitative and qualitative program and policy evaluation. Prior to joining CHE, Ms. Siddiqui was involved in research activities assessing the negative unintended consequences (e.g., weight-based teasing) of mandated school-based policies targeting childhood obesity.
